Digital Writer and Editor Wanted for Environmental Nonprofit | $20,000 project fee

Cities4Forests is an initiative led by the World Resource Institute. This initiative supports cities around the globe to recognize their interdependence with the world’s forests and use their own political, economic, and cultural power to protect and manage those forests for human well-being. We help our over 80 cities better conserve, manage, and restore their inner forests (such as city trees, urban parks and natural areas), nearby forests (such as watersheds), and faraway forests (especially tropical forests). We raise awareness of the benefits of forests and other natural infrastructure (especially for climate, water, biodiversity, and human health and well-being). We do this by inspiring political action and engagement, providing technical assistance and capacity building, and facilitating economic analysis, finance, and investment. You will provide editorial support to the Cities4Forests communications team throughout their website refresh process and upcoming launches. Using both creative and technical expertise, you will write, edit, finalize, and publish web pages, blogs, and other editorial products as needed. This is a limited-term contract position, likely to end in March 2023. You will be supported by various members of the Cities4Forests team, WRI’s Core Communications team, and an external web development vendor. You will report to Cities4Forests’ Communications Specialist.
