For two days of your week, your mission will be to take ownership of weekend coverage and ensure CoinDesk readers are fully up to date when something breaks in the cryptocurrency or adjacent industries. Crypto markets run 24/7, as does the news cycle. So it’s vital that we have eagle-eyed coverage over weekends. With that as your mandate, you will be responsible for monitoring, assigning, editing and often writing the news that breaks and making sure all that content is accurate, punctual and written in the CoinDesk style. You will also make sure you’re prepared for any expected events, having reached out to all CoinDesk reporters and editors prior to the weekend to find out what’s coming and arranging for story templates to be written as needed. You could be dealing with a market story one minute, editing a scoop the next, and summarizing a story from another media outlet the minute after that, all while keeping track of incoming press releases, spotting key facts in a central bank statement, and shepherding an embargoed news story on the side. What we’re looking for is a news hound, traffic cop, writer and editor all combined in one person who plays well with others, communicates clearly, and hates to lose.
