PANUM is looking for an energetic staff member to provide staff support services for the SNAP-Ed Connection team. The team supports the training and technical assistance needs of the SNAP Nutrition Education Branch (NEB), Food and Nutrition Service (FNS), USDA.
This role involves multifaceted tasks aimed at promoting SNAP-Ed initiatives, making it essential for the candidate to be detail-oriented, skilled in written and spoken communication mediums, and interested in using technology to disseminate nutrition information.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist with maintaining the SNAP-Ed Connection website using Drupal content management software
Assist with maintaining English and Spanish recipes housed on the MyPlate Kitchen website
Help update seasonal and holiday recipes and menus
Develop documents, charts, and reports for senior leadership. Collect and enter data
Use Google Analytics and Siteimprove to gather and assist with interpretation of analytical data for website usage and end user activities
Write and edit content for weekly SNAP-Ed email and social media campaigns
Develop graphics for SNAP-Ed Connection outreach
Provide customer support and answer reference emails
Perform literature searches
Review documents for 508 compliance and provide remediation as needed
Assist in hosting SNAP-Ed webinars
Support the NEB federal staff and the SNAP-Ed Connection nutritionists as needed
Complete special projects as assigned by NEB or the SNAP-Ed Connection team leader

Required:
Experience producing clear, concise writing for a variety of target audiences including technical experts, senior program managers, members of the public and other stakeholders;
Proficiency in MS Office programs, including Teams, Excel, and Word;
Basic graphic design skills and the ability to create/manipulate graphic assets:
Bachelor’s degree (REQUIRED) in nutrition, food science, public health, health communications, library science or closely related field;
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
Travel Requirements: Attend the Association of SNAP Nutrition Educators (ASNNA) meeting held each February in Arlington, VA
