Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP—one of the world’s leading global law firms with offices in strategic hubs of commerce, law, and government across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East—is seeking a Communications Specialist - Editor, charged with providing accurate and thoughtful editorial guidance and support for firm communications—both internal and external. The Communications team ensures that each message the firm delivers is succinct, consistent, and meets with our firm’s voice and style guidelines.

The Communications Specialist - Editor must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and coordinate directly with team members across a broad range of legal practice areas and departments, including with lawyers at various levels. The individual will work with various departments to publish and update firm-approved communications while ensuring that quality standards and deadlines are met. This position requires outstanding proofreading, editing, and rewriting skills; exceptional attention to detail; the ability to adapt to change and balance competing demands; and the flexibility to manage periodic demands outside of traditional business hours when necessary. Strong organizational, communication, and critical thinking skills are essential.

The Communications Specialist - Editor offers a flexible, hybrid in-office/remote working arrangement and will be based in Morgan Lewis’s Los Angeles office.

Key Responsibilities Include

Editing lawyer-authored articles, client alerts, blog posts, and newsletters; client emails, event invites, and announcements; lawyer bios; and firm, practice group, and departmental publications
Counseling internal clients on editorial standards and guidelines
Ensuring that editorial standards are consistent for all internal and external communications

Experience And Qualifications

Must possess a Bachelor's Degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or related discipline
Prior law firm experience strongly preferred
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in editing, writing, publishing, or journalism
Experience in professional/consulting services and/or the legal field preferred
Proficiency in MS-Office (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel) required; proficiency in content management systems (e.g., Sharepoint, Social Chorus/Firstup, CustomerIO, and/or others a plus)
