Subject Matter Expert (Sex Ed)

The phrase “sex education” may conjure visions of fumbling condom-on-banana demonstrations or black-and-white films about your changing body. This.... is not that. Crash Course Sex Education will tour the sometimes weird, occasionally wondrous, widely diverse, utterly normal realm of human sexuality. With science and wit — but no shroud of taboo — this series will steer learners through topics including anatomy, consent, gender, sexual orientation, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), healthy relationships, and more. If you are an expert in sex education, you might enjoy being our freelance subject matter expert (SME)!

Crash Course, owned by Complexly, is an award-winning YouTube channel that invites students, teachers, and lifelong learners to tackle subjects they might have had trouble with or are curious to learn more about. Our videos take traditional classroom concepts and combine them with engaging and insightful narratives to help people learn and understand.

As our freelance SME, you'll be responsible for developing the course syllabus and episode list for Crash Course Sex Education. Additionally, you'll review script and video drafts for clarity, accuracy, and completeness.

You should have extensive subject matter expertise, with experience teaching sex education to young people. This is a team project, so having the ability to work effectively and respectfully with staff and other contractors is essential.
