The Connecticut Mirror (www.CTMirror.org) is a local, independent, nonprofit digital journalism success story with huge momentum and ambitious growth goals. Our mission is to produce original, in-depth, nonpartisan journalism that informs Connecticut residents about the impact of public policy, holds government accountable, and amplifies diverse voices and perspectives. We have an immediate opening for a full-time editor to work in conjunction with the managing editor to perform day-to-day editing and staff management functions. This editor will be responsible for story editing (origination, development, word editing), with a particular emphasis on project management of longer enterprise work, and will be tasked with helping the executive editor develop and manage a fellowship program for aspiring journalists. A big part of this job will be helping to develop and support young reporters, both on the staff and in the fellowship program, so we are seeking someone who will embrace the role of teacher and mentor in the newsroom, as well as model the highest standards of quality journalism for all our reporters.
