Content Creator/ Asst. Editor

Indian Link, one of Australia’s leading multicultural media companies, is looking for a Content Creator/Assistant Editor to join our team!

As a key contributor to the production process, you will have plenty of scope to pitch ideas and develop your own editorial approach.

The successful candidate will have an excellent opportunity to lead from the front.

You need to be an excellent communicator, highly active and engaged across our company’s online social media channels, and a strong attention to detail.

Your responsibilities will be:

· Work with the editor to research, plan and commission new articles and content

· Proofread, edit copy and fact check articles with speed and accuracy

· Manage WordPress website, including uploading content and maintenance

· Execute cohesive social media strategy

· Work with advertising team to plan and execute advertorial, web, email and social media advertising campaigns

· Compile and edit weekly e-newsletters

· Liaise with team members to meet multiple (and sometimes changing) deadlines;

· Work with design team in final production page layout

To do this you will need to have :

At least 2 years experience in content creation/journalism

· A journalism background with solid writing, proofreading and editing skills.

· Knowledge and experience posting news stories, features and visual stories on social media (especially Instagram).

· (Ideally) familiarity with SEO and Wordpress

· Ability to work unsupervised to tight deadlines, while juggling multiple tasks

· Ability to liaise with both advertising and design teams

· Some knowledge of and interest in Indian culture is preferred but not essential
