Content Developer/Copywriter

New Posted 28 September 2023 | Hawthorn, Melbourne VIC | Swinburne University of Technology

An exciting opportunity exists for a gun Content Developer/Copywriter to join Swinburne’s Student Engagement and Retention Journey Squad, to provide content and copywriting capability to a cross-functional team, helping to build out student journeys across key current student audience segments. You’ll create content that connects current students with their study goals in a role that’s both varied and rewarding.

As our newest Content Developer, you’ll play a key role within the broader University Communications team to develop, implement and maintain content across numerous formats and channels, including writing for Swinburne’s website, event promotion, eDMs and articles, managing the copy proof, feedback and editing process.

This role will be responsible for idea generation, as well as the planning, creation
and production of content and assets that tell stories, engage audiences, and align to the
Swinburne brand. With a focus on product and acquisition campaigns and activities, you will creatively and accurately translate briefs to develop copy and content that assists with student retention objectives, from orientation to graduation, and just about everything in between.

About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

• You live and breathe engaging copy and understand the nuances when writing for different audience segments.
• You’re thorough. You check your sources, validate your claims, and seek feedback from subject matter experts before hitting publish.
• You collaborate like a pro. You work seamlessly with the team to brainstorm ideas for customer journeys, creative asset selection and website componentry.
• You understand how digital content is consumed, including knowledge of SEO techniques, and your writing for web applies best practice principles.
• You don’t just ‘write’. You proactively seek answers before starting a project and present your work engagingly. You see feedback as a challenge to respond with an even better solution.
• You’re adept at juggling multiple projects, deadlines and stakeholders without breaking (too much of) a sweat.

Qualifications
• A degree in marketing, communications or related fields with subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
