Summary: NASA SEWP seeks a Content Editor to join our growing Communications team. The candidate will have expert experience in both print and digital media content editing, be able to present ideas, and will oversee the written content production process.

Skills/Experience

Expert level proofreading and document editing required
Oversee written content production process and ensure it meets quality standards
Ensure deadlines are met
Produce error free projects within a short time frame
Create, edit, and proofread a wide range of written materials, such as white papers, ads, newsletter content, event signage, flyers, handouts, external emails, website copy (including web page text, hot topics, banners, and web tool verbiage), video scripts, internal and external training documents, PowerPoint slides, and other communication materials
Create and manage social media content that aligns with the organization's messaging and branding. This includes coordinating with the Communication team's graphics designer for appropriate social media images and GIFs, collaborating with the Events and Logistics team for event-related posts, and consistently posting on social platforms while engaging with followers as deemed appropriate
Collaborate cross-functionally with team members and other departments to identify areas for improvement in the workflow, create supporting documentation, and oversee the implementation of the new processes
Ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to NASA's established guidelines
Think critically about workflow and practice, and help identify creative solutions for process improvements
Fact checks and verifies information and research
Manages and updates social media accounts and websites
Contributes new ideas for future publications
Be familiar with ADA / Section 508 compliance standards
Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and adapt to last-minute changes
Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills
Outstanding grammar, spelling, punctuation, and written language skills
Experience with Microsoft programs
Knowledge of SEO best practices/WordPress/Hootsuite or similar content management systems/Adobe Creative Cloud/digital marketing concepts is a plus

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field
7+ years of editing experience for a publication or corporation
