We're looking for a Content Manager to join our Marketing and Commercial team at Wimbledon.
What you will be doing
This position manages Wimbledon’s day-to-day content output across our digital platforms and social media channels. It will also play a key role in growing our global digital footprint during The Championships and further realising our potential as a year-round brand on digital and social.
Delivering a year-round content plan through the day-to-day production and publication of content across Wimbledon’s social media channels and digital platforms, while also identifying new opportunities to enhance our content output.
Liaising with partners at the leading social media platforms to identify and deliver content activations that place the Wimbledon brand at the forefront of the industry.
Working with Wimbledon’s official commercial partners, players and broadcasters on the format and execution of their digital content goals and advising them on best practice to engage existing and attract new audiences
Collaborating with players, organisations and celebrity figures from the world of sport and beyond on content partnerships that can grow the profile of The Championships and tennis as a whole.
Oversee media management and archiving of digital content, as well as distribution to internal and external stakeholders.
Working closely with colleagues in the commercial function to align our shared content strategy, our digital platforms and social media platforms to deliver on shared goals, using data and analytics to make innovative suggestions.
Support departments across the organisation, such as the Wimbledon Foundation and Museum, with their internal and external facing content requirements, as well as educating colleagues on best practice on digital and social platforms.
Support production of printed publications such as the Wimbledon programme, including writing, editing and proofreading content.
What part your role will play in The Championships?
Working with the Content Lead and external agencies to devise and deliver a content plan across our digital and social media platforms that maximises the Championships window in terms of digital engagement and audience reach.
Working closely with our Championships social, editorial, photography and video teams to ensure the events of the tournament – both on and off court – are sufficiently covered for our global audience across our digital and social media platforms.
Identifying and capitalising on reactive content opportunities that may arise with players, famous faces and more.
Landing our key campaign messaging on digital and social through content.
Supporting the Content Lead in the upscaling and management of the Championships content team.
Ensuring delivery of content requirements for commercial partners, internal departments and beyond.
About You
Proven track record in digital content development and production at a brand, rightsholder, agency or similar (ideally within sport but not essential).
Confident and experienced in developing, briefing, producing and executing high-impact content across social and digital channels (and doing so in live, fast-paced environments).
A comprehensive knowledge of the social media and wider digital landscape and in tune with trending topics across the internet, with a proven ability to grow and engage audiences across different social and digital platforms through creative content.
A wide-ranging skillset regarding digital content creation, including video editing for social media platforms, copywriting, proofreading and editing.
Creatively minded, with a strong creative vision, with an ability to propose, justify and develop innovative content ideas.
Appreciation of the interconnected role content and social media plays in marketing and brand building.
Understanding of emerging industry trends and best practices that affect day-to-day publishing and content strategy, including how to optimise content per platform.
Experience working with Content Management Systems for digital platforms.
A proactive and collaborative team player that possesses excellent communication skills, with the confidence to work with internal departments, external agencies and senior figures.
A motivated individual with an excellent work ethic, that demonstrates the same level of application regardless of task profile
Knowledge of tennis, with a basic understanding of current trends, key topics and historical moments
Basic filming and photo editing skills
Confident budget management skills and knowledge of the associated processes
Understanding of media rights frameworks, copyright and their implications for digital content creation
