Content Writer

JOB SUMMARY FOR CONTENT WRITER:

Seeking a Content Writer to write technical materials, such as equipment materials, appendices, or operating and maintenance instructions for our leading Technology Client, located in Redmond, WA.

RESPONSIBILITIES FOR CONTENT WRITER:

Organize material and complete writing assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology
Maintain records and files of work and revisions
Confer with the client to establish technical specifications and to determine the subject material to be developed for publication
Scope of services include:
Migrate docs from the Power BI GitHub repo to the Fabric repo with editorial work and remove duplicate content.
Test and update the QuickStart and tutorial docs with the UI changes, terminology updates, broken links, getting rid of excessive screens, etc.
Improve content freshness by addressing customer feedback, and GitHub issues.
Update Analysis services content with Data analysis experience (DAX) examples, improve existing examples, verify syntax, etc.
Collaborate with Technical writers to organize the content into the right buckets.
Editorial work to bring grammar and spelling up to minimum requirements.
Content quality updates and updates to meet the doc publishing pipeline requirements.
Responds to editorial and reviewer feedback.
Attend standup meetings with the project team to plan, scope, and discuss queries, etc.
Accept work items from Program Managers in the business with drafted updates to documentation.
Converts specific feedback from writers and Program Managers into documentation.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE FOR CONTENT WRITER:

Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science or English, journalism, communications
2-4 years' experience required
Experience in in creating documentation for a technical audience
Experience working with markdown, git, and GitHub as a content management system
Experience with Power BI, Analysis Services, and DAX

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONTENT WRITER:

Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
Ability to read some programming code
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
