SnoQap is a nonprofit volunteer organization that provides undergraduate and graduate students a constructive and educational space to explore interests in economics, politics, finance, and STEM through writing, editing, and publishing in an online peer-curated journal. Founded in June 2016, SnoQap serves as a creative outlet for students to explore their potential careers and interests in an independent and collaborative way. We welcome students who are and have the potential to become, thought leaders on their respective campuses, so as to give voice and influence to their ideas
Position Description
The writers at SnoQap form the core of the organization. They are responsible for choosing relevant topics within their chosen field, conducting academic and topical research, and publishing cohesive articles approximately once a month. Most articles published by SnoQap range from 750 to 1500 words long and are required to reference at least one academic or research publication in APA format. Working with a dedicated editor, the writer will revise and refine their essays, ensure an appropriate tone of voice, and include balanced analysis before publishing their work.
In this role, you will:
Conduct research into topical issues with STEM, politics, finance, or economics.
Learn to read and summarize academic writing.
Author articles approximate 750-1500 words in length on a monthly basis.
Work with an editor to refine your writing style, tone of voice, and ability to provide impactful analysis.
