The School of Nursing has an outstanding opportunity for a Limited Term Appointment, Hourly, for an Advancement Copywriter and Editor. As a part of the Advancement team, the Copywriter & Editor will provide support in preparing and editing materials and copy for use in case statements, proposals, print publications, and/or the School of Nursing website.
Reporting to the Assistant Dean for Advancement, this position will provide expertise in preparing professionally written copy and editing on assigned projects. The Copywriter and Editor will collaborate with other members of the Advancement staff, as well as interact with School of Nursing faculty, donors, and alumni, as needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Writing copy for publications, websites and/or other materials (60%)
Editing case statements and proposals (30%)
As requested, interviewing faculty and/or donors and preparing content for donor impact stories (10%)
Supervision
This position is supervised by the Assistant Dean for Advancement.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience in marketing/communications, advancement, or related field.
Availability for 2-6 hours of work per month to be conducted remotely.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working in higher education, preferably familiarity with the University of Washington.
Knowledge of alumni relations/development/advancement principles.
Ability to work independently, set priorities and handle multiple projects efficiently and effectively.
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidences and protect confidential information; acts in a selfless manner and models ethical values of the UW.
