Role Description: As a residential content editor for Homes.com (a subsidiary of CoStar Group), you'll manage a team of writers to be an integral part of a growing editorial team creating stories that give home buyers a window into the design and architectural influences of condominiums, homes and neighborhoods as they shop for their new homes. Plus, you're helping agents grow their business by connecting with new clients and featuring their properties on Homes.com.
To succeed in this role, you must be an experienced people manager, a meticulous editor, with experience running teams to create authoritative, creative real estate content. We’re looking for a creative problem solver and a terrific communicator with a sharp eye. Teamwork is a critical piece of our culture and a key to our success, so a collaborative and adaptable attitude is a must.
Responsibilities
Manage and mentor a small team of writers on their research, reporting and writing.
Identify quality concerns and provide guidance to writers on how to improve.
Edit story structure to enhance the overall storytelling.
Work with writers to pair great written storytelling with images and video.
Work with Senior management to identify and organize priorities and projects.
Manage assignment schedules and planning in fast-moving publishing environment.
Focus on improving ledes to draw the reader in.
Rewrite portions of the content that require additional work and/or send the copy back to the writer with clear, helpful feedback.
Ensure that the overall voice, style and flow of copy is consistent to the Homes.com brand vision.
Review video scripts to ensure they capture the overall vibe of condominiums and neighborhood and are written in a way that marries the words to the visual elements.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Creative Writing, English, Marketing, Communications from an accredited, not-for-profit University or College.
A track record of commitment to prior employers.
7-10 years of professional editing experience
3-5 years of professional experience as a people manager
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge and experience writing about homes and real estate.
Proven experience identifying architectural styles and explaining how they influence condo and home design.
A master of words who knows how to expertly craft a story
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to successfully multi-task and track assignments through multiple stages of production
A highly collaborative team player who is not afraid to speak up or ask questions

This position offers a base salary range of $132,000 - $157,000, based on relevant skills and experience and includes a generous benefits plan.
