COURIER seeks a Social Media Fellow to join its national content team, assisting with the development of daily content to keep social feeds — primarily Twitter and Threads — populated with fresh and engaging material. The ideal candidate is someone who closely follows national politics and is aware of key figures on the national political scene.
This role pays $20/hour and will run through May/June 2024. Additionally, this role will be a contract / 1099 position through 2024 and will not be eligible for full-time benefits.

Responsibilities:
Draft and publish daily original social content for COURIER’s social channels — primarily Twitter and Threads, while assisting as needed with Instagram, and TikTok.
Assist with the production of social media copy that highlights the work of COURIER’s state-based newsrooms, breaking down local news stories in a digestible way for a national audience.
Research and draft news-of-the-day content for timely distribution.
Actively recirculate evergreen content across platforms.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree achieved or in progress, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Political Science, or a related field.
Experience creating content for organizations or brands.
Strong understanding of social media platforms, algorithms, and best practices.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Creative mindset with the ability to generate innovative ideas.
