Freelance Reporter

Crain Currency is looking for talented, motivated freelance reporters/ copy editors who know the wealth management and family office community. Freelancers should be media-savvy, voracious consumers of media and can be available during daily hours from 9am-12pm EST in a fast-paced, continually evolving environment.

A history of writing both original copy and curated material focused is a must. Freelancers must be able to write news briefs, post stories, edit internal copy and follow up on leads. Our ideal candidate enjoys uncovering newsworthy stories and building out a source list.

At its core, this is a 21st Century journalism job which values enterprise and new approaches to offering quality stories and information to a nuanced, sophisticated audience.

Experience in:

Writing detailed copy with efficiency
Drupal, WordPress or similar content management systems
Tagging taxonomy
Updating websites several times a day
Developing their own sources
Closely collaborating with our editors, web developers, graphic designers
Generating excitement for new products and being an enthusiastic brand ambassador
Working independently, within a team and collaborating with management
Sending breaking news alerts and working quickly, as emergencies happen
Writing high-value headlines and SEO proficient
