Associate Professor - Broadcast Journalism

The Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY is seeking a tenure-track professor with a specialty in local and/or national television news. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in all aspects of local TV, from producing to live on-camera reporting. The Associate Professor will be the point person at the school for all things broadcast, from designing and teaching broadcast journalism courses to organizing TV conferences and panels at the school. They will also help the school explore new directions for broadcast journalism. Additionally, he Associate Professor will act as a mentor for our students interested in a career in TV news. We expect the candidate to have strong connections to TV stations and/or networks and assist students in their searches for internships and jobs in the field. The position is expected to begin in Fall 2023.
