Lecturer in Digital Video Production

The Department of English at John Jay College of Criminal Justice invites applications for one full-time Lecturer position of Digital Video Production to begin Fall 2023. The successful candidate will teach courses in digital video production with an emphasis on post-production and multimedia storytelling, media studies, documentary film, and other courses related to the Digital Media and Journalism (DMJ) and Film Studies programs. The successful candidate will develop new courses relative to his/her/their expertise and contribute to assessment and curricular development for the DMJ and Film minors. The hiring committee is especially interested in applicants who contribute to the diversity mission of the college through their leadership, community service, lived experience and/or research. The position of lecturer is tenure-bearing through what is called a “certificate of continuous employment” (CCE) after the sixth annual reappointment. This position of lecturer is a teaching position with a load of twenty four hours of teaching per year in addition to expectations of departmental service. There is no expectation of research or publication. Candidates are expected to bring enthusiasm and a demonstrated commitment to teaching. Candidates will be required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 upon commencing employment. Final candidates must be fully vaccinated as of their first day of employment. All CUNY employees must reside within a commutable distance to their campus.
