Our team is looking for a swift, experienced commerce reporter to produce articles across several brands, including News, Sports and ETOnline. This is a contract position.
Responsibilities:
This writer will be responsible for pitching, writing and updating a robust daily slate of commerce articles daily, including breaking news about deals; deal roundups; evergreen shopping guides and more.
Requirements:
The writer will demonstrate strong expertise in (a) e-commerce editorial content, (b) the wide world of online shopping across a broad range of categories, including (but not limited to) kitchen; travel; consumer tech; furniture; apparel; streaming; large and small appliances and seasonal products (c) consumer tech buying seasons and trends and (d) e-commerce affiliate platforms (Rakuten, Amazon Affiliates, Howl).
The writer will have a proven reporting record in following daily deals, and a solid sense of what everyday consumers want to buy and when. The writer must have at least two years of professional journalism or other relevant editorial experience in covering major consumer brands. Writing commerce content for an established e-commerce outlet – the Strategist, Forbes Vetted, Wirecutter, etc. — is preferred.
The writer must demonstrate expertise with commerce editorial writing -- monetizing links, tracking affiliate sales, optimizing content for search engines, tracking down daily deals and following shopping trends – and will be a seasoned pro in writing e-commerce articles from a shopper's perspective.
