Content Writer - Social Media

We are looking for an experienced Content writer for Social Media to join our Sydney office. The successful applicant will be someone who loves the buzz of working in a newsroom, has a passion for social media and can help us reach millions of people every day. We need a collaborative self-starter with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a close team.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and populate Daily Mail Australia social feeds to bring in millions of users every day
Manage and cover live events and breaking news on social media
Monitor daily social media analytics to gauge success of social media efforts and initiatives
Assist news editors with coordination of social interaction during live events
Monitor the competitive social landscape, identify trends in social media and news consumption
To be a successful in this role, you must have;
Must have the ability to write compelling, engaging social media copy and headlines
Must have solid newspaper, magazine or news website experience
Must have good technical knowledge of social media outlets and trends, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and TikTok
Must be able to gather and analyse social media data and analytics
Must have the ability to gather information and create compelling digital content
Must work productively within a team environment
Must have an understanding of legal covenants and an understanding of copyright
Must have strong communication and people skills
Must be flexible regarding shift patterns (including weekends and nights)
Bachelor degree or higher qualification (desirable)
Reports into: Social Media Editor
