Job Introduction
The Audience Editor at DailyMail.com will help grow the site's audience by sourcing stories and videos for the website and its social audience. The role requires a proven expert in finding great stories, analyzing data, developing content themes and strategies and coordinating with various editorial teams to ensure content is tailored to the target audiences and platforms.
Main Responsibilities
Source stories and videos that will generate page and video views for the DailyMail.com website and its massive social audience
Analyze metrics and data related to audience engagement, traffic, and social media to identify trends and opportunities for growth
Develop and execute strategies to increase audience engagement, initially focusing on social media and Google Discover.
Collaborate with editorial teams to ensure content is tailored to the target audience and optimized for engagement
Identify and track audience interests and preferences to inform content development and distribution strategies
Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices related to audience engagement and social media
Person Specification
Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, marketing, or a related field
3+ years of experience in audience development, social media, or a related field
Strong analytical skills, with experience using data to inform strategies and decisions
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with multiple teams and stakeholders
Familiarity with social media platforms and best practices for engagement
Knowledge of SEO and content optimization best practices Creative problem-solving skills and a willingness to experiment and try new strategies
The Audience Editor will report to the Head of Audience Engagement and work closely with wider editorial tea,s to grow and engage DailyMail.com's audience. This is a fast-paced and dynamic role that requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication and analytical skills.
