The Digital Content Editor (Video) is primarily responsible for the overall editing, packaging and delivery of material related to The Dallas Express Podcast. Additional responsibilities include creation of brand short-form videos, video visuals, and motion graphics for brand marketing across our social media platforms, including Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and TikTok.
This role will create unique videos and graphics for email marketing, special promotions, brand releases, and more. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Digital Content Editor will partner closely with The Dallas Express newsroom, external vendors and other key stakeholders. We are looking for an organized individual who also has a curious, creative mindset that can dive into the details to get things done efficiently.
This is an on-site office position based in Dallas-Fort Worth. The successful candidate must be willing to work in the office and reside in one of the following counties: Collin, Dallas, Denton or Tarrant.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Create engaging, informative, and error-free video content for our podcast, website, blog, social media channels, and other marketing materials.
Enterprise, research and develop new content and story ideas.
Create engaging, technically sound content that increases understanding, knowledge and engagement of the public with regards to high-level product releases and updates to the platform.
Edit and proofread content to ensure high-quality output.
Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, best practices, and technologies related to video editing.
Develop compelling and original content based on Dallas Express communication and market engagement priorities.
Provide counsel to stakeholders on messaging and content development to ensure that communications are clear, correct, and aligned with brand and style.
Ensure consistency in style and tone on content throughout the website and other marketing collateral.
Collaborate on the maintenance of our brand style guide.
Develop communication materials supporting The Dallas Express goals, priorities, and initiatives, including newsworthy content, key messages, talking points, and companywide announcements.
Support external PR campaigns, digital/social initiatives, recruitment initiatives, and other related opportunities.
Assist in creating pitch materials, storytelling, narratives, and related content.
Identify and highlight important news moments within the organization.
Recommend and onboard scalable software solutions to support communication channels & build revenue streams.
Provide solutions for any community/client troubleshooting needed, using a high level of discretion to solve concerns quickly and thoroughly.
Other duties may be assigned and/or modified as business needs change.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
High school diploma or equivalent required, bachelor’s degree is a plus, but not necessary.
2-plus years of proven video editing experience.
A portfolio of video edits or creations.
Social media proficiency.
Experience with marketing software is a plus!
A keen eye for detail and beautiful aesthetics.
Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to solve problems and manage conflict.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities at once.
