Data Research Editor

We are looking for a full-time editor who will be responsible for data collection and analysis and writing stories based on the data, including news stories and features.

The Data Research Editor plays a key role in the execution of our editorial content strategy online and in print. The Editor will oversee accuracy of online directories, and manage the data collection process for three brands – The National Jurist, Golf Inc. magazine and The Crittenden Report.

Crittenden Research, Inc. is a 50-year-old family-run company that publishes magazines, websites, and conferences, and is well respected in its markets. Data research and analysis is an important part of the editorial DNA.

Key Responsibilities:

· Reporting on data analysis and rankings

· Oversee data-heavy magazine rankings

· Oversee directories in legal education, golf and real estate finance

· Other reporting, including features and news, as assigned

Skills & Required Qualifications:

· A commitment to journalistic excellence and integrity

· Excellent writing and editing skills, both for longform reporting and shorter, analytical pieces

· Experience maintaining an editorial calendar and balancing both short- and long-term projects

· Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel of similar spreadsheets

· Strong analytical thinking

Preferred Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Journalism

· 3+ years of experience in editorial

· Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen attention to detail

· Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage data collection projects

· Math and statistics familiarity a plus

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year, based on experience
