Deadspin seeks a breaking news writer to cover developments across all sports-related topics. We’ll provide a supportive, collegial environment that values quick-thinking, hard work and professionalism, while offering constructive feedback. You’ll bring strong news judgment, crisp writing, and genuine enthusiasm for covering sports stories in real time.
We’ll be looking for speed, accuracy, and creative approaches to formats for stories about every aspect of the sports world — and all the worlds that intersect with sports.
Requirements
Sharp writing skills with a clear voice and adherence to deadlines
Prior experience covering sports news
Experience working in a breaking news environment
Ability to produce 5 breaking news stories per day
Knowledge of journalistic standards and best reporting practices
This position has range of $50,000.00 up to $,000.00 annually, dependent upon years of related experience.

In-Office Policy
