Do you thrive on getting to the bottom of things? If so, we would love to receive your application for Deputy Projects Editor at Global Water Intelligence (GWI). We are looking for someone to help run our water project tracking service, which records real-time updates on over 1,300 projects worldwide. The GWI Project Tracker is the part of our B2B offering which matters most to subscribers, and you will play a key role in shaping our ambitious plans to enhance the service going forward.
Working closely with the Editor-in-Chief, you will co-manage a team of contributors (all of whom have other jobs), while also independently pursuing information on major water infrastructure projects around the world as they move from concept through to contract award. Most of this information is kept to insiders, which is why it is so valuable.
As Deputy Projects Editor, you will ensure timely and exclusive reporting on project developments across various regions and applications, while also uncovering new projects and niches that would attract international interest. Working closely with customer success, sales and marketing teams, you will help develop features and services of the Project Tracker to solve customer needs.
Each project detailed in the Project Tracker is an opportunity for our readers, but it is also a data point in the bigger picture of the water market. By analysing trends in project markets, and talking regularly to sources on the ground, the Deputy Projects Editor will help inform the market forecasts, research and event agendas that shape the water industry.
The ideal candidate will have:
The confidence and charm to win people’s trust over the phone.
The energy and the skill to inspire and manage a team of contributors.
An exceptional spoken and written command of the English language.
A nose for information that actually matters, and a doggedness in the pursuit of it.
Creativity and flexibility in your approach.
Scrupulous attention to detail, taking pride in delivering something brilliant.
A bachelor’s degree.
Professional experience in journalism, data analysis or research looked upon favourably.
