Who we are

Detroit Metro Times was recently purchased by Big Lou Holdings, a new media company based in the Midwest that owns publications in three other cities. We offer a competitive salary with benefits including health insurance, a 401K and paid time off.

Could you be the journalist we’re looking for? Email a resume, cover letter and three samples of published work to apply@metrotimes.com.

Questions are also welcome via email. And to answer one right off the bat: Yes, our staff works from home, and we relish the flexibility in that. But we need someone who lives in the Detroit area or is willing to move here in the next few months. Beyond that, in 2024, we anticipate leasing office space. We want to hire someone who is willing to work on site at least three days each week.

We look forward to hearing from you.
