Digital Editor / Peppermint Magazine
Peppermint is a magazine created by a small team in Brisbane, covering style, sustainability, sewing and substance. We're looking for an experienced Digital Editor to work two days per week (casual initially), assisting with idea generation and creation of content for the Peppermint website and social media channels.
The role is for two days per week (negotiable which days within Mon-Thurs), working towards additional days in the near future, with additional assistance around our print deadlines. We are based in Brisbane but you can work from home from anywhere in Australia!
Responsibilities include:
Creating content for the Peppermint website, social media channels and magazine – including sourcing, pitching, planning and creating content for Peppermint’s audience.
Sourcing, managing and liaising with other contributors and partners.
Sub-editing and proofreading.
Preferred knowledge of sustainable fashion and sewing, to assist with sewing and DIY content.
All applicants MUST have:
A background in journalism or communications.
A minimum of two years experience working in media/publishing.
Excellent writing, editing and communication skills.
Good knowledge and experience in sewing and the sewing industry.
Creativity and a willingness to share ideas, opinions and feedback.
Enthusiasm for the Peppermint brand and ethos.
Strong understanding of social media planning and strategy.
A strong grasp of grammar, punctuation and language styles.
Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
A strong passion for environmental and social issues, ethics, sustainability and sewing.

Useful knowledge:
Basic knowledge of Photoshop and photo editing.
Familiarity with InDesign.
Familiarity with WordPress.
Familiarity with Reels, TikTok, videos and other digital platforms.
