Digital Journalist

The Hickory Daily Record, a Lee Enterprises company, is seeking a digitally savvy journalist take high-quality photos and video, as well as report on the community.

We are looking for a reporter/photographer who can move quickly on breaking news and also dig into how the decisions made by our elected leaders and government officials will impact the people in our community. This position will be expected to produce all manner of news content and work with other journalists in our newsroom. Additional multi-media experience is a plus. This position includes some night, weekend and holiday work. A valid driver’s license, a reliable vehicle and insurance are required. Strong spelling and grammar skills are a necessity. High ethical standards are an expectation.

Hickory is a city of more than 40,000 people in the state’s foothills. The location is ideal. We are 30 minutes from mountains, about 45 minutes from Charlotte and approximately 4 hours from the Atlantic Ocean.
