The Writer-Reporter, Entertainment will work across entertainment verticals (Movies, Music, TV), producing content for both print and digital platforms. The Writer-Reporter will write weekly for the Chatter and Star Tracks sections and contribute multiple stories to the Scoop section of the magazine. The Writer-Reporter is expected to help coordinate the production of the front-of-book sections, from honing story ideas to collaborating with the Art and Photo departments. The Writer-Reporter is also responsible for pitching, writing, researching and reporting out multiple news stories daily for People.com and will be expected to contribute to in-depth print and digital features, as well as pitch in on breaking news stories. The ideal candidate is a self-starting team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has strong, discerning news judgement. Candidates should also have experience writing for a celebrity or entertainment media brand. The Writer-Reporter must be capable of handling sit-down interviews with high-profile talent; writing and reporting out breaking news; covering red-carpet events; and tapping and expanding sources in the entertainment world. Candidates will be expected to work occasional nights and weekends to cover award shows, red carpets and events.
