You will work within an international team to assess prices and market developments for iron ore trade in Asia as part of McCloskey's endeavour to price raw materials that are driving the green energy revolution.

The deliverables will include research and writing briefs on key market developments both within China and globally.

Main Responsibilities

Conduct primary research and analysis for the Global and Chinese iron ore market

Provide regular and objective written inputs for monthly and annual analysis.

Provide weekly market pricing inputs into the global database

Research and report on new developments in iron ore and steel markets

Coordinate with steel, scrap analysts for cross-sectoral analysis and standing in as back-up for steel/scrap analysts in Asia.

Representing McCloskey by OPIS in metals conferences/forum

Main Qualifications and skills:

2-4 years reporting/research experience in metals, mining, or steel raw materials. Iron ore experience a bonus.

Undergraduate degree in Journalism, English, Finance or Business.

Can cooperatively work across an organization at multi-levels to utilize the resources and knowledge base available efficiently and effectively in a team approach.

Excellent analytical and organizational skills.

Knowledge of spoken Mandarin is essential.
