Would you like to work for some of the world’s most recognised brands, delivering ambitious and creative editorial content – from text to video and more – that provides insights, and drives awareness and demand? We want you to bring your journalistic mindset to help our clients tell their stories. Working alongside an incredibly talented, high-performing team, this is an opportunity to produce the best work of your career.
Edelman is a leading global communications agency that helps businesses and organisations to evolve, promote, and protect their brands and reputations. We are independent and family-owned, which allows us the freedom to deliver original thinking and invest in our clients.
The Role
The Editorial Team at Edelman London is creating a new position for an experienced editorial content creator with excellent writing skills and strong team leadership qualities. You will have a journalistic background or extensive experience in editorial writing in communications as well as experience in science/medical writing.
You will be working mainly for clients of Edelman’s Health practice – with 50% of your role dedicated to a broad range of clients in the pharmaceutical field, and the other 50% to a client who is a global leader in dental health. While you will work mainly in the health and wellness field, you may be expected to work across a broad range of other sectors.
Supported by the Head of Editorial, you will lead the editorial and content output for our dental health client – co-ordinating and triaging the workflow, developing creative ideas, writing high-quality copy to tight deadlines, ensuring the quality of editorial content, and setting editorial priorities for a small team across multiple markets. You will work closely with our clients, inspiring them to achieve editorial excellence and helping them to engage and convince their target audiences – whether they are health care professionals, channel partners, patients or other stakeholders.
You will also have extensive knowledge of the pharmaceutical sector and are able to understand complex medical and scientific issues and explain them in a concise, engaging and accessible way at the level of a broad range of target audiences – from clinicians and regulators to mainstream audiences like patients and their families.
Skills
You will have a strong creative and journalistic mindset, and plenty of experience as a storyteller; you know how to explain the benefits and impact of clinical technologies and treatment solutions to clinicians and b2b customers, but are also capable to communicate with consumer audiences. You have experience as a team leader and the ability to manage stakeholders client-side. You are an excellent writer who can generate ideas for telling stories, and in which format and on which channels. Experience with video, social media and SEO will be an added plus. You will have experience either as a journalist or as a content-focused PR professional working on international accounts. We want to see proof of how your feature ideas have translated into media and digital coverage. A passion for social media is essential.
