Responsibilities
EDGE's recently launched investigative division, EDGE-i, produces original reporting affecting the LGBTQ community. Past stories have included an analysis of queer representation in young adult literature, how the fragrance industry is breaking the binary, and LGBTQ seniors amid the coronavirus pandemic. We're expanding our team of contributors and seeking writers with experience in investigative reporting, including deeply researched feature stories with primary sources, an aggregate framework to make a case for the subject at hand, and a compelling narrative. Stories undergo several rounds of edits and fact-checking. Writers are expected to provide transcripts, interviews or other source material to support submitted features.
Qualifications
2 to 3 years of investigative reporting experience.
Qualitative and quantitative research.
Ability to identify and interview primary sources.
Exceptional written communication skills.
Passion for LGBTQ issues.
Additional Information
Stories average 2,000 words. This is a paid position with rates established on a per story basis.
