The Hampshire Review, an award-winning weekly newspaper located in the beautiful Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia, is eagerly seeking highly qualified candidates to fill the pivotal role of Editor. As an Editor at The Hampshire Review, you will have the opportunity to shape the narrative of our vibrant community and contribute to our legacy of journalistic excellence.

Responsibilities:

Lead our dynamic newsroom, providing guidance, mentorship, and editorial oversight to a talented team of journalists.

Develop and execute compelling story ideas, ensuring that our publication continues to deliver informative and engaging content to our readers.

Uphold the highest standards of journalism, maintaining accuracy, fairness, and objectivity in all reporting.

Collaborate with other departments to create a cohesive and compelling newspaper that reflects the interests and concerns of our community.

Manage publication deadlines and ensure the timely delivery of a high-quality product each week.

Designing and executing engaging front page layouts using newsroom standards

Requirements:

A deep passion for journalism and a commitment to the principles of a free press.

Proven editorial experience in a newsroom environment, including strong writing and editing skills.

Exceptional leadership abilities and the capacity to inspire and guide a team of reporters.

Knowledge of West Virginia's unique regional and community issues is a plus.

Photography skills a plus.

Experience with Adobe applications, especially InDesign and Photoshop.

Flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
