At Ashfield MedComms, we live and breathe our values and are committed to excellence. Our people are the key to our success. As such, finding new talent to join our team is fundamental to driving our business forwards. This is the place to grow your career.
We currently have an opening, based preferably at our Macclesfield or Manchester offices as a hybrid position, for an Editorial Assistant. This role requires a brief covering letter.
So, what’s the job?
This is a hybrid position during the initial training phase, based at our Macclesfield office.
As an Editorial Assistant you will be an integral part of our Medical and Scientific Services Team, implementing our clients’ medical education programmes. Duties will include proof reading, styling and copy-editing a wide variety of medical education deliverables produced by our Medical Writers, as well as tracking project progress and providing updates as necessary. You will liaise closely with external contacts in order to settle queries, obtain approvals and ensure that we deliver a high quality of service to healthcare professionals so that they can deliver the best quality of patient care. This is an opportunity to have a real influence in the way that patients are cared for and to work in an environment that will nurture your career.
Who is the ideal candidate?
As you will be proof reading and styling technical content, high levels of attention to detail and excellent word processing skills are a must. We’re looking for someone who can work well within part of an established team as well as the ability to perform under their own initiative and the ability to prioritise a varied workload. A scientific background or keen interest in the sciences would certainly be advantageous, as would previous experience of publishing or time in a Medical Communications agency environment. If this sounds like you, then you already have the potential to enjoy a career as an Editorial Assistant within Medical Communications, whether you’re a life science graduate or someone with a passion for editing.
