CIM Magazine, which covers the latest advances in ideas, trends and technology in the Canadian mining industry, is offering a 16-week paid internship opportunity for upper-year students and recent graduates.
There are no boring assignments at CIM Magazine – the mining industry is rapidly experiencing change, from its technology to the people who makes up its workforce. Interns get to write about what interests them. Assignments range from the latest advances in battery technology and scientific breakthroughs to ESG obligations, the expansion of EDI, the importance of Indigenous relations and mental health in mining. By the end of the internship, our interns have a strong portfolio filled with a variety of interesting and engaging news clips.
The intern will work remotely from home and have the chance to contribute to all aspects of magazine editorial, in both print and online.
During the internship, the intern will be required to write our weekly newsletter, news articles, conduct interviews, attend regular story meetings and participate in the magazine production process (source photos, proofread the issue and other related tasks).
This is an opportunity for students to work with a B2B National Magazine Award-winning publication, gain valuable experience in the journalism industry, expand their portfolio and develop skills through on-the-job training.

Internship requirements:
The intern will work 35 hours per week for 16 weeks, with the possibility of extension. Due to the remote aspect, technical requirements are a phone, internet and a computer with camera and microphone.
All applicants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
