The UIC College of Engineering is seeking an Editorial Writer (Assistant Director of Academic Communications) to work with the college's communications group. This position requires demonstrated writing experience, ideally in journalism or public relations. The ideal candidate will have experience producing high-quality news stories on tight deadlines. Experience in writing about education, academia, or science is considered a plus. The UIC College of Engineering is recognized for its academic excellence with undergraduate and graduate programs in six academic departments: Richard and Loan Hill Department of Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil and Materials Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Mechanical and Industrial Engineering. The Editorial Writer will be assigned to cover two of these departments. We are the only public research university providing engineering education in the city of Chicago, and our goal is to offer "Access to Excellence and Success" for all students.
