Managing Editor, Visuals and Immersive Experiences

New Posted 6 October 2022 | Bethesda, Maryland | Education Week

Education Week has been described as a strategic national asset and has provided particularly critical service throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. Its reach is unique in its breadth and depth, serving policymakers and practitioners both within the pre-K-12 system and across the range of government agencies, legislative bodies, state executives, and public and private institutions that effectively set the agenda for American elementary and secondary education. The Managing Editor for Visuals and Immersive Experiences (ME, VEX) is a senior level newsroom leader who also owns strategic, cross-organization responsibilities, with the goal of helping expand our audience, deepen connections with new and loyal readers, and positively impact business results through innovative storytelling and purposeful visuals work. The ME, VEX will work with the Editor-in-Chief of Education Week, the Managing Editor of EdWeek Market Brief, and other senior newsroom leaders to help drive coverage that conveys complex information in visually compelling and unconventional ways, often by collaborating with our reporters and editors to find interesting approaches to major national news developments in K-12 education.
