Job Summary: As the Associate Editor, you will be working with the Digital Infrastructure group and contribute editorial content, oversee multiple tasks to help elevate two brands, BTR and Lightwave. The position requires writing and editorial skills, self-initiative, and the ability to work productively and relatively independently due to the position's remote nature. Knowledge of or an interest in learning about fiber optics, the Broadband Industry and technology—including newsworthy trends, research insights, industry trends, and technology—as is the ability to convert this information into content that drives a high degree of audience engagement and readership. Work with marketing and production to develop promotional materials for events and webinars. Leverage SEO to drive traffic to the brands. In this role you will travel some and cover industry trade shows and events along with video recap coverage and client interviews.
Responsibilities:
Contribute editorial content and oversee multiple tasks to help elevate both brands
Research, interview, write, post, and promote print and digital content
Rewrite press releases
Write product summaries as needed and create curated news content
Attend and cover industry trade shows and events
Lead coverage for at least one key beat
Study and apply insights from site/brand analytics
Cover all administrative editorial duties as assigned
Report on industry trends, news, projects, and stories via independent research, interviews, primary sources, and industry events and training
Write original news articles and features (approximately 5 per week)
Produce for publication via the CMS for BTR and LW
Promote on social media.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelors degree in Journalism, English, Communications or related field
Minimum 2 years experience in b2b writing or equivalent
Strong attention to detail
Solid time management skills
Ability to prioritize tasks
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Strong communication skill
As a company we have embraced the emerging pay transparency laws. The pay range for this position is $40,000-45,000/yr.
