Executive Editor

The executive editor will supervise news coverage for our ambitious nonprofit digital newsroom. You’ll help set the overall editorial vision and strategy for our award-winning journalism, manage the editorial calendar, develop and oversee publishing processes, track audience engagement, and assign and edit stories. Your big-picture vision will anchor and lead the newsroom, help shape its overall editorial strategy and guide coverage of enterprise, accountability reporting. The executive editor will report to the organization’s co-founders. San José Spotlight is an award-winning nonprofit news organization dedicated to independent political and business reporting in Silicon Valley. Our mission is to change the face of local journalism by building a community-supported newsroom that ignites civic engagement, educates citizens and strengthens our democracy.
