Money-Media Fellow

New Posted 25 July 2022 | New York, NY | Financial Times

This program is for recent college graduates interested in working in a newsroom. No prior experience necessary. As a part of the Financial Times Group, Money-Media’s newsroom is well-resources and part of a global network. And as part of the FT’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, we are looking for someone who brings perspectives and experience that are currently underrepresented in our newsroom. Money-Media fellows will rotate through different teams over a one-year term, gaining exposure to various beats and writing styles. Our titles focus on decision-makers at financial service companies, corporate board directors overseeing companies you already know, and design and marketing execs at leasing consumer brands. We write about the stories behind these businesses, and the people that make them tick. In the past year, for example, we have put major themes such as the impact of COVID-19, the societal focus on racial equity and justice and the U.S. elections into context, showing readers what it means for their businesses –and how they must adapt to keep pace. Our reporters tell stories in writing, using video and through graphics. We break news in our industries and dig deep, so you will develop skills in interviewing, parsing documents, producing hard news and crafting features. Our publications take an entrepreneurial approach and range from titles with track records of more than two decades to start-ups with only a few months’. As a Money-Media fellow, you will work with editors and attend team meetings, producing original content, developing sources and learning how newsrooms operate. In addition, you will meet weekly with a group managing editor for coaching or to address questions you might have.
