Forbes is looking to hire ambitious college students, recent graduates and/or experienced journalists to help compile the fourth annual Forbes 50 Over 50 list–our list, produced in partnership with Mika Brzezinski and her Know Your Value initiative, of women who are stepping into their power at the age of 50 and beyond. This position will focus on finding and writing about candidates for the list who have compelling personal and professional stories; who are firsts in their industry and/or position; who are creating and running businesses at scale. This position will begin by March 25 and end on August 6 and is part-time requiring 20-25 hours/week; it is a paid position that comes with opportunities to write and report for Forbes.com.
Responsibilities
Contacting industry groups, networking organizations and other sources to solicit their nominations for the list
Contacting trusted sources to help identify the most qualified and interesting people for the list.
Verifying biographical information about each candidate through the emailing of a detailed survey and also through original reporting.
Writing sharp, compelling yet concise bios that highlight unique aspects of each person on our list.
Fact-checking the bios.
Uploading edited bios into the Forbes database.
Collecting updated high-resolution headshots from some of the candidates.
Generating story ideas to report, write and publish alongside the completed list.
The Ideal Candidate
Comfort contacting sources, many of whom are powerful people in business.
Creative thinking and/or brainstorming abilities are a must; we don’t repeat people on the list so are in constant search of new sources to fill the pool of candidates.
An ability to meet consistent deadlines
Strong writing and reporting skills
Attention to detail in fact-checking
Flexibility and an interest to pitch in where needed

The hourly rate for this role is $25,00 to $30.00
