Reporting to the Director of e-Commerce Content, the E-Commerce/Commercial Editor is responsible for publishing rankings and stories for our Education vertical. This includes coverage of higher education programs in MBA, cybersecurity, and data science, as well as emerging programs and certificates.
The ideal candidate has a deep knowledge of the education space, as well as familiarity with publishing high-intent, SEO content. The Editor will work with staff writers and freelancers to develop a calendar and publish rankings and stories.
Core Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain a calendar for the growing Fortune Education vertical.
Work with the data reporter on methodology and program rankings.
Assign high-opportunity SEO articles amid the changing world of higher education.
Edit high-quality stories that provide serviceable information for audiences.
Work with staff and freelance reporters on stories.
Communicate successes and results to our e-Commerce Director.
Weigh in on strategy for the vertical and calendar based on successes.
Grow high-intent traffic by focusing on SEO opportunities.
Qualifications:
5+ years of editing experience, preferably in e-commerce content or content marketing a plus.
Excellent skills in writing, editing, analysis, strategy
Deep knowledge of the higher education space is a plus.
Organized and able to keep reporters and freelancers publishing on deadlines.
Experience with creating and maintaining calendars through task-management software like Asana is a plus.
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Location: NYC. Successful candidate must be commutable to our lower Manhattan office on a hybrid schedule (a minimum of 3 days per week)
