Copy Desk Chief

The Frederick News-Post, a six-day-a-week print and digital newspaper in Frederick, Maryland, is seeking an experienced copy desk chief. Qualified candidates will be experienced in supervising a copy desk to produce a newspaper in print and online and to produce special publications. They will have strong organization and communication skills and will be excellent in design and layout, particularly InDesign. Knowledge and training in graphic arts is preferable. They’ll work with a collaborative spirit under daily deadline pressures. Must be proficient in AP style and have strong news judgment and editing skills. A bachelor’s degree is preferred. The normal schedule is afternoons and nights during the week and on Sunday.
