Gillespie County is seeing growth, and governments and property owners are dealing with water availability, and loss and segmenting of land parcels. The county seat, Fredericksburg, is a tourist destination that draws 2 million visitors each year because of its shopping, 75 wineries and peach orchards. This position will report on conservation efforts in a rapidly changing rural area, traditional versus new in farming/ranching and land management, and environmental effects on development.
Salary and Benefits:
$40,000 - $45,000
Health insurance (company pays $320 per month), two weeks paid vacation (or three weeks if reporter has five years or more of experience).
This position will be:
Fully in-person at an office
Moving Stipend:
Up to $1,000.
