BBC Maestro is a venture funded start-up, working in close collaboration with BBC Studios, on a mission to revolutionise the way we fuel our creative dreams and ambitions. We offer educational and inspirational video courses taught by the world’s most experienced creators, each one a Maestro in their field, including: Mark Ronson, Edgar Wright, Julia Donaldson, Alan Moore, Marco Pierre-White, David Walliams, Gary Barlow, Jed Mercurio, and many more.
Following a successful 24 months, we are now aiming to scale our offering through new celebrity talent, new technologies, and new team members.
About The Role And Responsibilities
We are looking to meet talented copywriters to work in our creative studio team as we scale our marketing efforts for 2023. In this role you will work across the spectrum of creative content and marketing materials.; this includes campaign-based media and communications such as paid social media, organic social media, emails and website copy.
Content is continually required in line with the production of new courses and marketing activations for our expanding portfolio of global talent. We believe the richness of course content and diversity of talent helps keep the creative and copy requirements fresh and interesting.
As copywriter, you are a naturally creative and conceptual thinker who is able to work closely with team members to develop creative ideas & sales messaging. You’re experienced at partnering with designers to own the final deliverables, that represents the high quality of our brand & products.
You will be reporting directly into Nick, our Creative Studio Lead.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborating on creative projects with senior designers
Working with our studio lead and marketing team to create compelling advertising & sales messages
Conveying those messages across a variety of touch points, including email, web, paid media and social
Research industry related topics for our courses and improve our content offering
We anticipate contracts of varying term between August and December 2023. Day rate would be around £250-300 pd
Requirements
Core skills and attitude:
Strong conceptual creative, who stays up to date with trends and culture
A drive to make engaging and entertaining work across multiple channels
Writing marketing copy, with an understanding of social media & marketing writing principles
Able to turn complex ideas into compelling and engaging copy that sells the product
Can write compelling email copy, including both transactional emails and marketing flows
Can write strong web copy, ideally with a knowledge of SEO practices and strategy to influence content
Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills
You enjoy learning and sharing your knowledge with others
You have an upbeat can-do attitude to drive delivery in a fast-paced media environment
You care about company culture and see your own responsibility in creating a positive work environment
You are adaptable in your approach. You validate your decision and adjust with new insights.
You are up to date with latest industry trends and enjoy pushing the traditional boundaries of creative excellence to create unique and engaging content
