Freelance Copywriter

If you’re a talented freelance copywriter who understands healthcare and loves using words to inspire action, we have a great opportunity for you. Dobies Health Marketing, a strategy-focused healthcare marketing and branding firm located in Kansas City, is seeking experienced writers to expand and support our content team.

Are you a specialist in healthcare content for certain types of media and/or stakeholders? Or, are you a versatile writer who enjoys pivoting from creative copy to websites, white papers, blogging/social media, and more? We are open to both, depending on experience. Success requires active listening and a passion for mastering the finer details to achieve the most engaging and effective copy. We’re looking for writers who have a bachelor’s degree in a related field, 3+ years’ experience in healthcare/marketing content development and writing samples that make us say wow.

Whether freelance or full-time, our writers:

Create and manage integrated, multimedia content for our healthcare clients, including:
Websites
Creative campaigns
Public relations communications
Videos/podcasts
Social media
White papers
Case studies
Email marketing
Search marketing
All other content initiatives
Establish and maintain the voice of the organization (for our clients and/or our company)
Connect strategy to tactical execution for compelling content that moves hearts and minds
Demonstrate self-sufficiency to carry concepts and direction forward into finely tuned final deliverables

Skills required:

Strong writing and editing skills; able to write engaging copy that connects closely to the specific strategy, objectives and audiences of each piece, with minimal revisions needed
Extensive knowledge of content/marketing strategies and platforms, including how to write engaging content for social media
Strong critical thinking skills, with the ability to strategically synthesize the primary communication objective into audience-centric copy
Well-organized, detail-oriented and capable of meeting tight deadlines, with equally solid strengths in creativity
Capable of learning about new topics, products and services quickly and translating complex information into easily consumable content
