Consumer Attorney Marketing Group (CAMG) is a Los Angeles based direct response media agency serving the law firms throughout the United States. We are looking to build a bench of 3-4 Freelance Marketing Writers who will work on hourly, “as needed, as available” basis to develop copy for various marketing materials and content in various platforms. Reporting to the Marketing Project Manager, each Freelance Writer working on a project will ensure copy is relevant, engaging, strategically sound, and brand appropriate. A strong understanding of “call to action” marketing is required for success in this position. An experienced understanding of legal marketing is also helpful.
Essential Job Functions
Research, verify facts, gather data points from internal resources in order to write headlines and captions for use on social, website, newsletters, and other marketing materials.
Develop and maintain a clear and consistent voice and tone to be applied to existing internal and external style guides and marketing materials.
Compose clear, concise and grammatically correct copy for multiple communication platforms, utilizing a writing style that appeals to target markets.
Polish, edit, rewrite copy as necessary for the assigned projects, in order to clarify meaning or conform to messaging style guidelines and company strategy.
Working alongside and taking direction from the President & CEO, EVP of Media, the Managing Director of PR & Marketing Operations, the Marketing Project Manager and other key team members, the Freelance Marketing Writer will develop clear and compelling online content including marketing & event industry blog articles.
Write website copy for all social media platforms.
Write website content for client litigation landing pages.
Write compelling headlines and email subject lines that get attorneys to open emails and respond.
Write occasional press releases.
Edit and repurpose existing print copy and craft email marketing campaigns.
Collaborate with Marketing Project Manager and internal departments as well as external agencies to develop decks, proposals, one sheets and case study content that is high-quality, brand-appropriate, accurate and effectively communicates about company capabilities, offerings, products and services.
Requirements
Available to work between 1-15 hours per week on assigned projects, as needed and as available.
Knowledge of “call to action” Marketing a must.
Candidates must submit prior marketing writing samples with resume.
Following initial screening interview, successful candidates will be required to demonstrate their writing skills in 2 standard writing exercises in order to assess skill level and aptitude, as well as their ability to develop “call to action” content.
Must demonstrate exceptional writing, editing, research and analytical skills.
Possess an eye for detail and thorough knowledge of grammatical and stylistic concepts.
Ability to take initiative and work with little direction to meet all deadlines.
Work well with internal marketing team and cross collaborate with other internal departments.
Marketing experience and a working knowledge of SEO/SEM best practices preferred.
College Degree required. Preferred bachelor’s degree disciplines include English, Journalism. Marketing and Mass Communications.
