King's Dream Business Consulting is currently seeking a Contract Writer/Consultant to join our skilled team of small business developers! Our ideal candidate has strong writing and storytelling skills, is highly organized, and excels at time management. As a Contract Writer, your responsibilities will include responding to RFPs/RFQs/RFIs, MOUs, and grants to secure program funding for our firm. We are looking for excellent communicators, who pay close attention to detail and can work independently while also being eager to grow with the company.

This is a remote, contract role with flexible weekly hours ranging from 10-40. Ultimately, the schedule is self-driven.

Who You Are:

Responsibilities:

Prepares proposals by determining concepts, gathering and formatting information, writing drafts, and obtaining approvals.
Determines proposal concept by identifying and clarifying opportunities and needs, studying requests for proposals (RFPs), and attending strategy meetings.
Meets proposal deadlines by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, approval, and transmittal.
Coordinates requirements with contributors and contributes proposal status information to review meetings.
Gathers proposal information by identifying sources of information, coordinating submissions and collections, and identifying and communicating risks associated with proposals.
Develops a proposal by assembling information including project nature, objectives/outcomes/deliverables, implementation, methods, timetable, staffing, budget, standards of performance, and evaluation.
Writes, revises, and edits drafts, including executive summaries, conclusions, and organization credentials.
Prepares presentation by evaluating text, graphics, and binding and coordinating printing.
Maintains quality results by using templates; following proposal-writing standards including readability, consistency, and tone; maintaining proposal support databases.
Obtains approvals by reviewing proposals with key members and project managers.
Improves proposal-writing results by evaluating and re-designing processes, approaches, coordination, and boilerplate.

Qualifications / Skills:

Minimum of 3 years experience in grant writing, prospect research, or general fundraising or a minimum of 2 years of comparable and transferable skills acquired in a professional setting
Technical documentation
Deadline-oriented
Bachelor's degree in English, Communication, Administration, or related field

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
