We are an online media website looking to bring on a freelance beauty writer to join our extended team. Our publication is a fresh and modern take on new media, creating engaging content spanning fashion, beauty, culture, lifestyle, and runway.
Overview
We're seeking a talented, experienced freelance content writer to produce 8-12 articles a month. The focus of these articles will be beauty - new skincare and makeup products, current beauty trends, and beauty news and updates. This writer is responsible for crafting engaging advertorial content promoting various brands and products that captures the attention of our readers.
Responsibilities
Submit 8-12 articles per month with a focus on beauty, skincare, makeup, fragrances, or beauty news
Write, proofread and structure high quality editorial content that aligns with our brand voice and image
Pitch article ideas to editorial team weekly
Manage and prioritize multiple projects & deadlines effectively
Ability to choose high-quality relevant images to match content and prepare content for publishing
Qualifications
You love beauty and culture and are up to date on the latest social media beauty trends
You have a passion for mixing URL & IRL experiences to bridge the gap between Gen Z and Millennial consumers
You have your finger on the pulse of what’s happening in the beauty industry - and when you don’t, you present strong research & analytical skills to learn what’s what
You are fluent in WordPress post preparation & publishing
An understanding of SEO in relation to editorial content is paramount
You have a mastery of coming up with keywords for SEO articles and meta descriptions
Familiarity using SurferSEO, Ahrefs and other SEO tool is a plus
You’re fluent in online tools like Google Drive, Google Docs, Gmail, Notion, and Slack
Experience writing for an online publication or magazine is ideal but not required
Bonus points if you have experience working on a remote team!
This role is freelance paid $100 per article and fully remote.
