Freelance Writer

We're seeking a Freelance Writer with experience in Business copywriting to remotely join our Marketing Development Team. Our renowned business brokerage helps individuals buy and sell small businesses. Could your writing skills entice potential buyers to envision themselves owning and thriving in the businesses they read about?

The successful candidate will translate in-depth interviews with business sellers conducted by our Advisors into long and short format marketing pieces; our longer format is what we call a ‘Confidential Information Memorandum’ (or CIM) and our shorter formats are typically a concise one-page ‘Business Profile’ (or BP).

A finished ‘CIM’ or Confidential Information Memorandum is a powerful marketing tool to help sell a business. The CIM’s should provide accurate information about a particular business only after an interested party has signed a confidentiality agreement and been financially qualified. The purpose of the document is to answer 90-95% of the initial questions a prospective buyer might have about that business. As the writer, your task is to make each business stand out uniquely, prompting buyers to visualize themselves as owners, operators, and potentially, expanders of the business.

A finished ‘BP’ or Business Profile is a succinct document that highlights a business's unique appeal to attract potential buyers confidentially, on public platforms like bizbuysell.com and distribution lists.

Responsibilities include:

- Crafting CIMs and Business Profiles based on audio recorded Discovery Interviews as well as transcripts from these interviews.

- Researching supplementary information from sources like the business website, online reviews, and industry overviews.

- Meeting deadlines while maintaining content between 1500-2500 words, without exceeding 3500 words, and avoiding fluff.

- Evaluating each assignment against the benchmark: "Have I created a world-class CIM and Business Profile that puts the business in the best position to secure a buyer?"
